Vincent Jondeau is a filmmaker and artist based in Berlin. His sensitivity to art is partly inherited from a family history open to many forms of artistic and craft expression (sculpture, engraving, lithography, photography, textile arts, drawing, painting). But he is also deeply influenced by a pluralistic academic formation, combining engineering, human sciences and art, which has forged in him a powerful interest in the visible and invisible phenomena that run through our environments and structure our realities.

After a first degree in the human sciences, he completed a double MA in Media Art in Paris. He pursued additional photography training at Berlin’s Ostkreuzschule, taking part in seminars led by Jessica Backhaus and Mirjana Vrbaski. His filmic and photographic work is rooted in hybrid methodologies through which he seeks to develop ecological forms of narrative, questioning the human gaze and incorporating the perspective and memory of plant beings. His practice is also nourished by interdisciplinary collaborations with performers, dancers, and researchers. His work has been exhibited in venues such as Kunstquartier Bethanien (2024), the Biennale Photo Mulhouse (2024) — where he appeared on the catalogue cover — and at film festivals including the Regensburg Short Film Week, among others. In 2024, the film 628 Years of Potatoes, co-directed with Marina Resende Santos, was awarded the Mart Stam Prize by the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin, and in 2025 received the Environment and Health Prize at the Imagésanté Festival in Liège.

Alongside his personal artistic practice, he works in the field of artistic heritage preservation and had the opportunity to work for organizations such as the Wim Wenders Foundation or the Alfred Ehrhardt Foundation, as well as being a member of the Youth Jury for the Festival Cinéma du réel in Paris in 2020.
