Vincent Jondeau is a French filmmaker, artist, and archivist based in Berlin. His sensitivity to art is partly inherited from a family history open to many forms of artistic and craft expression (sculpture, engraving, lithography, photography, textile arts, drawing, painting). After an initial degree in human sciences, he completed a double master’s in media arts in Paris, followed by further training in photography at the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin, under the mentorship of artists Jessica Backhaus and Mirjana Vrbaški.
His work has been presented at events such as the Berlin Science Week, the BBA Made in Berlin Art Award, the Biennale Photo Mulhouse, the ISFF Detmold, the Regensburg Short Film Week, and Festival Imagésanté in Liège, where he received the Environment and Health Prize in 2025.
In 2023, he co-founded the production company Cinema Povera and is a member of several collectives, including the NGO IOpener and the artist-run space Make-up. He has also participated in several artist residencies, notably Kintai Arts in Lithuania, the ONSITE Residency in Germany, the Rocabella Residency in France, and soon the AADK Residency at Centro Negra in Spain.
His filmic and photographic practice explores ecological forms of narrative, questioning the human gaze and incorporating the perspectives and memory of other beings. His work is also shaped by interdisciplinary collaborations with performers, dancers, sound artists, and researchers.
Alongside his personal artistic practice, he works in the field of artistic heritage preservation and had the opportunity to work for organizations such as the Wim Wenders Foundation, the Alfred Ehrhardt Foundation or the the Helmut Newton Foundation, as well as being a member of the Youth Jury for the Festival Cinéma du réel in Paris in 2020.
